Information about Antique Furniture Manufacturers

Antiques are those items, which show some degree of craftsmanship, or a certain attention to design. They can be bought from antique shops, or passed down as an estate. Some valuable antiques can be bought from antique dealers and auction services or purchased online through websites and online auctions. There are a number of different styles of antique furniture depending on when and where it was made. There are three areas to consider when caring for antiques: proper cleaning, proper protection and maintaining a proper environment

The collecting of antique furniture is a particularly popular area of antiques due to the practical characteristics of these antiques. One of the great advantages of collecting antique furniture are that it is not only a good investment, but it is something that can be used and enjoyed every day. Antique furniture includes dining tables, chairs, bureaus, chests etc.

Regarding dust, if it is allowed to remain on the surface of your antiques, it can actually damage the finish of wood, brass and other surfaces. Therefore, it is critical to make dusting a part of your weekly routine. You should dust every few days, and at the very least, once a week. How often you dust may also depend on your environment and location.

When dusting, it is important to "do no harm". Use only a soft cloth, and avoid sprays of any type, including furniture polish. Never dust with anything that may scratch the finish of your furniture, whether a dusting or cleaning compound or cloth that may have abrasive properties. The chemicals used in many of these products that are designed to repel dust and dirt may cause a weakening of the antique's finish or even stain the wood. Remember, cleaning should protect and preserve your pieces, not cause damage. When it comes to caring for antique furniture, dust, direct sunlight and improper environment are furniture's worst enemies.

No matter how good one's intentions may be, efforts to clean antique furniture, if done improperly, may actually do damage.

Today people like to visit forums to getting a general idea of the item's worth. It is common to find a lot of conflicting information using this approach. Forums may be great for building a sense of community and for getting some strong ideas.

Many website are available now days for giving information about antique furniture manufacturers and suppliers information. It has become tough to select the best out of the lot. Craft Central is a marketplace with offers you a wide range of directory, thus making it easy for buyers to make up their mind.

Craftcentral is a reliable and authentic information source and a B2B matchmaking platform of global manufacturers, suppliers, traders and buyers related to art, craft and handicraft industry.

Personal Alarms

Violent crime is on the rise in many once-safe communities, and more and more people are finding it necessary to include an extra measure of security to protect themselves and their loved ones from assault. Passing through familiar or unfamiliar neighborhoods, being alone at the office or even just walking across the parking lot at night to get to your car can pose a serious risk to your safety. A personal alarm is a great self-defense tool that can stop an attack before it happens.

A personal alarm is small enough to hold in your hand. It has a button, that when pressed, will emit a loud siren-type sound resulting in surprising and scaring-off the assailant with the attention it will attract. . There are many different types and sizes of personal alarms to suit every need and lifestyle. They travel easily in pocket or purse, and some personal alarms have other handy self-defense and safety aids built into them, such as a flashlight or flashing strobe light. These personal alarms are perfect for a woman or child alone, for joggers and cyclists, and night-shift employees who might have to enter a dark building or parking lot.

But not all personal alarms are meant to be worn or carried somewhere on the person, many have uses other than to fend off an attacker. Some are used to scare off intruders from entering your home or where you are residing (i.e., hotel, cabin, etc.). For example, there are alarms that can be hung on a doorknob and automatically sound if an intruder touches the doorknob. Others are doorstop alarms activated when someone tries to open the door. Many intruders are wary of and are scared away by the sound of an angry barking dog. The multi-functional secure dog alarm allows you added security without having to actually own a dog. This alarm uses an electronic radar-wave sense control and when an intruder comes within 22 feet, it automatically begins barking like an angry dog.
Some personal alarms are designed to help monitor and maintain the safety of people, especially children. Have you ever experienced the terror of thinking your child is missing or lost? If you have ever had the gut-wrenching feeling of turning around in a busy street or busy store and suddenly finding that your child is nowhere in site, then you will appreciate the Child Guard Kitty or Panda. This transmitting device is cartoon animal shaped and worn by the child. When the child gets beyond a set distance, the adult's receiver starts to beep, letting them know their child is starting to wander off. Our pool alarm is another comforting device. If anyone such as your child or a neighbor's child were to fall into the pool, the alarm will sound alerting you to investigate.

Personal alarms are very economical, starting at about $10.00 and make great gifts to show a special someone how much you truly care. For more information about personal alarms and for a complete list of our products and other helpful self-defense items, visit Armed Right.

Pepper Sprays: Information about Pepper Spray

With crime on the rise in many once-safe communities, it is becoming necessary to include an extra measure of security to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Walking in unfamiliar neighborhoods or even just across the street or parking lot at night to get to your car can be an open invitation for an attacker to assault you, whether you're a man, woman or child. There are many self-defense products out on the market, but one of the most effective weapons against an actual assault is Pepper Spray. Wilderness hikers and campers use it to protect themselves against wild animal attacks, including bears. Joggers, cyclists and delivery people use it to ward off unfriendly dogs.

Pepper spray is a legal, non-lethal gas that irritates the eyes to cause tears, pain and temporary blindness in those it is used against. The active ingredient is a natural substance called "oleoresin capsicum" and comes from the oily resins of chili, cayenne and other types of peppers. When pepper spray comes in contact with the eyes, they slam shut, burn, tear and swell. It also causes the mucous membranes of the nose, throat and sinuses to swell, making breathing difficult. The temporary blindness and disorientation this causes in the attacker gives you the valuable time you need to escape and get help.

If you have any hesitation about how to use pepper spray or in selecting the right product, you can purchase an inexpensive book of facts and a how-to guide on using defensive sprays by visiting our website at Armed Right. Pepper sprays come in a variety of forms and styles. Pepper sprays can be concealed in a pocket or purse, as an attachment on a key ring, or disguised as a jewelry accessory such as the pepper spray ring. The styles are as diverse and individual as the end user. Each product comes with simple to use instructions.

There is nothing like the peace of mind that comes with knowing you can defend yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. Pepper Spray is a discrete, easy, effective and economical way to stay safe and secure. For more information about pepper spray and other self-defense items or tips.

The Guide to Social Security - How to Pay Fewer Taxes

Most individuals in or near retirement have three financial legs to support them in retirement: Social Security benefits; qualified retirement savings [401(k), IRA, 403(b), etc.] on which taxes have not yet been paid; non-qualified savings and investments on which taxes have been paid on the principal and possibly some or all of the earnings. By carefully coordinating the use of these three sources of money, the typical retirement-minded couple can add up to 20% to their after-tax income and afford a better retirement lifestyle.

Potty Training a Dog doesn't Have to Be Difficult

Potty training your dog, rather he be young, old, large, or small doesn't have to be an overwhelming task. Its as simple as you want to make it. Follow these easy steps below for the shortest road to success.

When you arrive at the designated spot, repeat the words "Go potty" (or your variation of the phrase) several times. Stay at the spot for at least 15 minutes. Don't let your dog play or do anything else until it has done its business. Praise your dog as soon as it is done going to the bathroom. Don't hold back with the praise and excitement as your dog will pick this up and remember that each time it goes to the bathroom, it will receive praise from you.

If your dog doesn't or is unable to go to the bathroom in the time you allocate (15 minutes), take your dog inside the house. Watch your dog for signs that it needs to go or take it outside once again after 15 minutes and try one more time.

By doing this, your dog is learning to go to the bathroom on command. Your dog may be distracted by many things outside, but if you keep reminding your dog why you are taking him outside to the designated spot, it will learn to go to the bathroom.

Aside from teaching your dog to go to the bathroom, you need to housetrain your dog to keep off the furniture. Below are some suggestions:

1. Spray something bitter smelling and tasting on an old sheet then drape it on the furniture you don't want your dog to get on.

2. Place a wide masking tape, sticky side up, on the furniture. When your dog gets on the furniture, the tape sticks to their paws. Your dog won't get hurt, but the tape will startle your dog to prompt it to get off the furniture quickly.

3. Cover and furniture with a plastic carpet runner, prickly side up. Like the wide masking tape suggestion, this one will startle your dog and make him uncomfortable enough to get off the furniture.

4. If you have a small dog, you can install gates and crates as well as dog proof some areas of your house. If your dog can't get to the furniture and other important stuff, it can't chew or destroy them.

Training Your Dog not to Chew on Furniture or Non-Toys

Chewing is a habit that dogs are quick to develop and can cause damage. To keep your dog from chewing the couch, train it to chew on his own toys. Make sure to give your dog plenty of physical and mental exercise as well as consistent training.

Tips for Housetraining Old, Young, and Large Breed Dogs

For years, "housetraining" has been a term associated with dogs. A housetrained dog is a dog that can be trusted to do its business in the spot you choose for him whether it's outside the house or indoors. A dog that is not housetrained can give its owner a lot of problems. If you are trying to housetrain your dog, keep in mind the following tips:

1. Take note of the food your dog consumes on a daily basis. If you are feeding your dog food that is high in sugar or fiber, you are asking for trouble. Be aware the foods high in sugar won't give your dog the proper nutrition it needs. In addition, high sugary foods are slow to digest and produce high volumes of defecation. Because high sugary foods are more waste than nutrition, it goes without saying that your dog's system is going to try to get rid of the waste. Also limit the treats you give to your dog as they are often the cause for "accidents" inside the house. Ask a veterinarian for dog food that has proper nutrition.

2. Put your dog on a feeding and watering schedule and stick to it. As soon as you wake up, take your dog outside so it can do its business and then bring your dog back inside the house for feeding and watering. Leave your dog's food down for 20 to 30 minutes. Give your dog small amounts of water to drink. Remember that when dogs are stressed or bored, they tend to drink. If you leave plenty of water in the house for your dog, the more likely that "accidents" will happen.

3. Once you have your dog eating and drinking on a strict schedule, you'll be able to teach your dog to make scheduled bathroom visits. Most dogs need to visit the bathroom 15 to 30 minutes after they have eaten or drunk water. Train your dog to go on schedule.

4. If your dog is acting all excited when you get home or during one of your training sessions, your dog may need to go to the bathroom. Ask your dog if it needs to go out. Your dog will react in some way - a bark or a quiet look. Praise your dog first and then take it out on a leash, taking care to walk it through the same door, down the same path and to the same designated spot.

Tips for Prospective Puppy Buyers

A puppy can grow to be your best friend and a dedicated companion. However, it is important to understand what you are getting into before going out and purchasing a dog from a breeder. I have worked with dogs for some time now and feel qualified to share a few pointers.

First, make sure you think things through carefully and over a long period of time. Adopting or purchasing a dog is not a decision that should be made lightly-it is important to understand that you are brining another creature into your household and to be aware of the needs of that animal. For example, early training is crucial to the long term happiness of both you and your pet. Obedience classes are a must, as are such points as house-breaking, establishing yourself as the 'pack leader,' teaching your dog how to greet guests and outsiders, etc. This all takes a substantial dedication of time and resources. A new dog in your household should be thought of in a similar way to having a child-while it may sound silly, the needs of the two are actually in the same ball park.

One very important factor is the breed you choose. There are currently one hundred and fifty seven dog breeds as recognized by the American Kennel Club and each breed has its own unique traits, strengths, needs, and of course, weaknesses and problems. There are a number of websites on the internet with extensive information on the various breeds, and it's important that you spend as much time researching your options as possible-do not make the all too common mistake of going out and picking a puppy just because you think it looks cute.
Furthermore, as opposed to purchasing a dog from a breeder (which can cost thousands of dollars, depending on the breed and the pedigree), consider adopting a dog in need from a local rescue organization. A quick search online can help you find dogs in your area that are in need of loving homes. Sadly, many of these dogs never find the homes they need, simply because folks purchase bred dogs. It can be tricky to identify the mix of breeds in a dog you find at a shelter, but research, discussion, and naturally the help of the employees at the shelter can help give you an idea of what breed the dog is. Once you have this information you can research online or in a library to learn more about the specific characteristics of the breed.

If you do decide to adopt from a rescue, you have my thanks-you are doing a good deed and potentially saving a life-so pat yourself on the back. If, for some reason, you decide it would be better for you to purchase a dog from a breeder, it is very important that you research not only the dog you are interested in, but also the environment the animal is bred in. It is an unfortunate reality that many breeders you find have little interest in the animals and are far more concerned with earning money-these are the people you want to avoid. Look for someone who truly loves their dogs and cares for them dearly. This is the sort of breeder you want to give your business to-not only to encourage responsible breeding practices, but also because dogs that are bred in a loving environment are more likely to make successful, well behaved pets.

I hope these few tips help to give you an idea of the kind of commitment necessary for adopting or purchasing a puppy, and also the considerations you should make when selecting a breeder. Good luck, and make sure you do your research and make the right choice!

Kitchen Cabinets

If you want the most organized kitchen then opting for kitchen cabinets can easily make cooking and other tasks handy. Kitchen cabinets help you to keep all the necessary items in the kitchen in proper order. They are available in the form of wooden boxes and the more advanced form of modular units that can either be purchased as stock cabinets or can be manufactured in standard sizes. The right kind of cabinets will change the overall look into trendy one. If you want your kitchen to have a perfect look you can consult a professional who will guide with the theme or color scheme befitting the home decor as well as suiting to your needs.

The cabinets are available in two types- the face frame and the frameless. The faced frame cabinets have the front edge made of hardwood whereas the frameless types are European style cabinets having panels finished on both sides and they have simple laminated banding on the edges. The face-framed cabinets are more in demand and are very much popular. Moreover you can choose from custom cabinets, stock kitchen cabinets, and semi-custom or built-to-order cabinets. It is also necessary to choose the right kind of knobs and latches and should very well match with your cabinets.

Remodeling the kitchen aim at the maximum use of the space available and easy access of the items required frequently for cooking. There are base cabinets made for floors and very well fitted with the drawers above, there can get two cabinets side by side, kitchen with low floor space, look good with long thin cabinets and wall mounted cabinets. Triangular cabinets are ideal for every kitchen that neatly fits into the corner of the kitchen and hides the irregularities of it. The cabinets made one above the other can also be used as it has a space in between to utilize it as a small shelf.
While organizing kitchen cabinets there is a necessity to analyze the three basic areas of the kitchen. The preparation area, the cook & serve area and the sink area. This will help the easy access to the various kitchen articles and will save your time of preparing meal.

But see to it that you get good quality kitchen cabinets. The cheap or substandard quality is usually made of thin laminates and photo-simulated wood resulting in poor drawer construction of the cabinets wherein the cabinets will not slide smoothly, the pieces will be of irregular sizes and will have no smooth fitting. So the best way is to choose the one made from durable wood and order the samples to check it genuinely before placing an order for complete set.

It is very easy to install kitchen cabinets. The dealer itself can send his own personnel or you can take the help of any other installers whom you thing can do it well. People well versed with woodworks are also efficient in doing this job. If you feel and have some skills of installing cabinets on your own will help you to save some money by doing it yourself.
